Leprino Foods Company, a global leader in the dairy food and ingredient industry, is seeking a Accounting Clerk to join our team located in Roswell, NM.

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for ensuring all plant departments have accurate and timely reports to aid in department decision making having a positive effect on quality and financials.
Position is able to take on higher accounting functions to include performing as the Supervisor back-up for month end financial close.
This position will also have to back up another Accounting Clerks.

Knowledge and experience in payroll, FMLA laws, Garnishments, OT Rules, and LOAs Experience in Kronos timekeeping system is preferred (time reconciliations, Schedules) Ability to explain financial data based on knowledge of manufacturing process Ability to perform intermediate administration functions related to business operations Solves financial variances, Payroll errors, A/P issues, and any other Accounting related errors Addresses problems directly, analyze possible solutions using technical experience and sound judgment Must be able to lead themselves through organization, time management, and personal conduct Set the example by routinely hitting deadlines while maintaining highly accurate and exception work This position will occasionally impact all non-exempt paychecks which is critical This role will monitor, facilitate, and report out on all invoicing activity in the plant Provides a seamless flow of information during team member vacations Key resource to identifying causes, or explaining financial variances Guides, influences, and persuades others either internally in other areas or externally with vendors Acts as facilitator between HR, Dept.
Managers, Accounting, Security, Vendors, and Employees at any point in time Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to multi-tasks and deliver on deadlines Ability to learn and perform multiple functions/tasks within the scope of the accounting area.
Month End responsibilities around Financial closes, Supervisor back-ups, etc.
As a Back-up:
Responsible for all plant related Payroll functions, reports, including analysis for improvements.
Also includes maintaining a high degree of confidentiality around employee and compensation information.
Learn and fully understand the Milk Analyst, Cheese Analyst, Processing/Whey Analyst, Receptionist role (act as Back-up/Vacation Relief) Project Work as assigned by Supervisor/Plant Controller.

Minimum
Qualifications:
2 years of related experience Ability to perform essential job functions safely.
Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7 day operation.
Must be able to work a minimum of 8.
5 hours.
Preferred
Experience:
Associate Degree in Accounting or other related degree or 5 years of related experience or B.
S.
degree in Accounting and 3 years of related experience or equivalent work experience.
Manufacturing Accounting in Dairy or other industry-Experience working in Kronos, SAP and MES application.
Physical Demands and Work Environment This position will be exposed to inside ambient temperatures and may include a wet / slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Bending, squatting, reaching, and climbing upstairs/ladders are required throughout the shift.
Standing and walking are required throughout the shift.
