The grazing capacity of the ranch is set by a Section 3 BLM grazing permit for 164 animal units on a yearlong basis.



The climate is described as semi-arid with an annual rainfall between 12 and 14 inches. Winters are generally open with occasional snow fall that hardly ever exceeds six to eight inches. The growing season is approximately 180 days from the middle of April to late October.
